Rivka Aderet presents footage from ANU Museum’s film collection (part b).
The Partisan With The Leica Camera.
The story of Mundek Lukawiecki and his wife Hannah Bern, who fought the Nazis with the Polish partisans and hid in the forests. Mundek not only employed his bravery and cunning, but also his Leica camera, giving us a rare glimpse into the life of the partisans. After the film, a talk with the directors, Ruth Valk and Yael Perlov.

Invisible Strangers. An ethic reading of Moti Kirschenbaum’s documentary “Grenade in Gaza “. With Dr. Shmulik Duvdevani.
Whatsapp, Nachal Gar’in Gilboa. Yitzhak Fux of the Steve Tisch School of Film and Television returns after fifty years to his youth in the religious Gar’in after the Six Day War, reviewing changes that occurred in the Religious Zionism ideology. After the film, a talk with Yitzhak Fux.
Sack of Talents. Alroi and Dafna, parents of four children, have CP. Their story reveals a multi generational life journey, and daily inspiring life struggles filled with faith. After the film, a talk with the filmmaker, Yitzhak Yonathan Yehuda.

Sabotage tells the dramatic and unknown story of the women’s underground operation in Auschwitz-Birkenau. It is a story of feminine heroism, resistance, hope and tragedy, told through the eyes of Anna Wajcblum Heilman, Estusia’s sister and the youngest member of the women’s resistance. Under the horrific inferno of Auschwitz, Anna writes a diary describing the dramatic story of the women’s resistance, and the day-to-day routine of the camp, which consists of many little moments of camaraderie and friendship between young women shaped under harsh circumstances. After the film, a talk with the filmmaker, Noa Aharoni.
Invalids by Fifth Paragraph – Invalids by fifth paragraph was how Soviet Jews referred to themselves, paragraph 5 being the nationality clause in the Soviet I.D. For many years they suffered discrimination in high education institutes and workplaces. After the film, a talk with the filmmaker, Boris Maftsir.

Air Born – “Air Born” brings the story of children who grew up in the air force bases housing projects of the 1960s and 1970s, in a civilian housing complex surrounded by a bustling military base where their fathers served. A childhood protected by a fence and a guard with an endless feeling of freedom and security, but exposed to the militaristic world, full of dramatic and tragic events that influenced the fates of the children – A childhood in the shadow of wars. Children of Peace – Arabs and Jews have lived in ongoing conflict for over a century. A group of dreamers decided to challenge everything they know about their nationalities and histories and founded a village in 1970s Israel as a social experiment. The film follows the many children who were brought up in this unique environment. In this bold attempt to raise a new generation their internal struggles and the outside conflict challenged their revolutionary eco-system. The children of peace are now grown men and women dealing with the harsh reality of political turmoil, war and societal segregation. After the film, a talk with the director, Maayan Schwartz.
