Guided Tours at ANU – Museum of the Jewish People

ANU – Museum of the Jewish People welcomes groups of all sizes and backgrounds for a meaningful and engaging guided tour. All tours are led by a highly trained museum educator. As each tour is modified to fit the age range of the group, it is important that we receive as much information about your group as possible prior to the tour. Advanced reservations are required. Tours are available in English, Hebrew, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, and other languages.

All tours are 90 minutes.

Educational workshops and lectures can be added to your group’s museum experience, either before or after the tour, for an additional charge. The museum’s classrooms, lecture halls, and gallery spaces can be rented out for your group’s welcoming or farewell event, ceremony or lecture, with or without catering.

The Journey
Take a journey through time and place – across 6 continents and through 4000 years of Jewish history. Starting in the Biblical Land of Israel, follow global Jewish migrations from East to West and back to the modern State of Israel. Fueled by state-of-the-art storytelling technology, we visit the great centers of Jewish life throughout the ages, and learn about how Jews influenced, and took influence from world cultures in their own time. We will discuss together how our personal stories are intertwined with this greater story.

Tours for Youth, Teens and Educational Groups
Highlights Tour- Specially Designed for Taglit and MASA
Tour the new and spectacular museum highlights via state-of-the-art displays, immersive video, and world-class art. Three floors explore the unique and ongoing story of the Jewish People – Jews around the world today and the historical journey and foundations of Jewish life. Engage in personal stories and discovery through open conversations about what it means to be Jewish today, and what the Jewish future may look like. Encourage continuing exploration of Jewish identity, post-ANU and post-Israel trip by showcasing a variety of ways one can be Jewish.
RFID Tour for Taglit
Using cutting edge RFID technology, allow Taglit participants to choose contents from the museum’s finest exhibits, and save them directly onto a mobile or desktop. Embrace participants’ developing sense of Jewish identity and ask “What makes you Jewish?”. Encourage continuing exploration of Jewish identity, post-ANU and post-Israel trip by showcasing the variety of ways one can be Jewish.

Tour for Camps, Youth, and Teens
Engage in a personal dialogue about their own Jewish identity, while emphasizing the diversity of historic, and modern day, Jewish populations. Walk through milestones of Jewish history and highlight where their own Jewish story sits in the mosaic of the Jewish people. Participants may see their camp or youth movement in the museum gallery, and will be encouraged to see themselves not just as young Jews living in the 21st century, but also as links on a great chain of Jewish life and community spanning millennia. Connect with foundations of Jewish spirituality and practice, and encourage continuing exploration of Jewish identity, post-ANU and post-Israel trip by showcasing a variety of ways one can be Jewish.

Tours for Christian and Interfaith Groups
This tour, tailored to Christian visitors of all backgrounds, demonstrates and connects to shared Judeo-Christian roots. An immersive museum experience combines historic and modern artefacts with state-of-the-art multimedia to illuminate the 4,000-plus-year history of the Jewish people. With our Christian Advisory Board, we have designed special programs for Christian visitors to Israel.
This tour will teach the Judaic foundations of Christianity through a uniquely Jewish lens, and trace the interwoven paths of Jews and Christians over 2,000 years. Through elements of Jewish life such as sacred texts, Shabbat, and Israel, we show how the Jewish people have maintained their identities through migrations across the globe. Emphasize diversity of historic, and modern day, Jewish populations in Israel and around the world.
